but I like flying
It is said that everyone hates flying for their own unique reasons.
I love flying though.
No-one would deny that it has its bad parts. But I still look forward to it every time.
I get to climb into a beautiful machine, find the seat which has been reserved for me, look over the buzzing tarmac and viscerally feel the plane take off.
Once in flight, someone brings me a glass of coke, which I specifically look forward to. I might look out the window some more and enjoy whatever comforts and diversions that I carefully and lovingly packed in my bag beforehand.
The general lack of internet also helps me stay in the present moment. This feels good even though I simultaneously can't wait to arrive and resume the usual phone things. I can listen to music and really focus on it, write in my notebook, or read something I've been meaning to get to.
And of course, I also get to go somewhere.
I give air travel an 8/10.
